Why Are We Skipping Kickstarter?
Share

Over the last few months, we have been asked one question more than almost any other:
When does the Kickstarter go live?
It is a fair question.
Kickstarter has become a huge part of the miniature industry. It has helped launch some incredible projects, and from a marketing point of view, it would probably have made sense for us too.
After a lot of careful consideration, we have decided not to go down that route.
The simple reason is this:
THE PROJECT IS ALREADY FUNDED.
The tooling is already moving forward. The US Infantry box is happening. We are not asking the community to help us find out whether this project can exist. We are past that point.
Because of that, launching on Kickstarter started to feel wrong to us.
It would have meant asking people to back a project that we already knew we could fund ourselves. It would also have meant adding at least another 28 days before anyone could even place their order properly.
That did not sit right with us.
So instead, we are taking the plunge.
We are launching directly through Warfront, trusting that the interest we have built so far is strong enough, and doing everything we can to get the product into your hands faster than we could have done through a crowdfunding campaign.
That does not mean everything is perfectly polished yet.

WE ARE AIMING TO OPEN PRE-ORDERS ON THE 30TH OF THIS MONTH.
Time is against us.
We are currently aiming to open pre-orders on the 30th of this month, and there is still a lot happening behind the scenes. Painted examples and box art are both in development right now, and we know how important they are. We want you to see exactly what you are backing, buying, and getting excited about.
Our release plan will still follow a very similar structure to the campaign we originally had in mind.
EARLY ACCESS PASS HOLDERS STILL GET THEIR £1 CREDIT AND 24 HOURS EARLY ACCESS.
Everyone who purchased the £1 Early Access Pass will still receive their £1 credit and will still get 24 hours of early access before the general public.
24 HOURS OF EARLY BIRD PRICING.
After that, there will be 24 hours of early bird pricing for everyone.
The price will then move to our Kickstarter-style launch price for 28 days, before reverting to the normal retail price once that launch period ends.
WE ARE EXPLORING 3-BOX AND 5-BOX BUNDLE DEALS.
We know many of you are not just buying one box for the shelf. You are building forces, armies, and gaming collections. If we can offer additional savings on 3-box and 5-box bundles, we will.
There are also two things we want to draw your attention to.
FREE BOX GIVEAWAY AT 500 NEWSLETTER SUBSCRIBERS.
We are getting close now, so if you have been following the project, please do share it around. Once we hit 500, one subscriber will be randomly picked to win a box.
YOU CAN STILL VOTE ON THE NEXT FACTION.
This will be the faction that follows the US Infantry, PMC, and our super secret project.
The success of Warfront is now in your hands more than ever.
We want to create a full range of modern infantry kits. That has always been the goal. But we can only do that if the first three boxes are a commercial success.
THE FIRST PRODUCTION RUN IS LIMITED TO 1,000 BOXES.
Once they are gone, it may take us a month or two to restock.
So if you want to be part of the first Warfront release, do not miss launch day.
Thank you for following the project, sharing your feedback, voting in the polls, signing up to the newsletter, requesting free miniatures, and helping us prove that there is real demand for modern plastic infantry.
WE ARE NOT LAUNCHING A KICKSTARTER.
WE ARE LAUNCHING WARFRONT.
And we cannot wait to show you what comes next.
