Western PMC Development Update

Following the launch of our US Infantry pre-order, development has now shifted firmly towards the next kit in the Warfront range, the Western PMC.

From the very beginning, this project has been about creating something far more flexible than a single uniformed military force. Private Military Companies operate across a huge range of environments and missions, meaning no two teams look exactly alike. That gives us the opportunity to produce a kit capable of representing everything from security contractors through to modern special operations-inspired forces and irregular fighters.

Designing for Variety

Rather than starting with complete miniatures, every Warfront kit begins life as hundreds of individual components.

Each weapon, arm, torso, head and piece of equipment is designed independently before being combined into a complete plastic frame.

Our aim is simple:

Maximum compatibility. Maximum variety.

Every decision we make is driven by allowing hobbyists to build squads that don't look like they've come from the same mould.

Weapons

One of the largest areas of development so far has been the weapon selection.

The current design includes a wide variety of rifle configurations, allowing builders to create everything from standard assault rifles through to designated marksman rifles and suppressed carbines.

Alongside these are a selection of specialist weapon systems including:

• Light Machine Gun
• Precision Sniper Rifle
• Pump Action Shotgun
• Compact Personal Defence Weapon
• Commercial Drone Controller

We're also continuing to refine weapon accessories and different grip combinations to maximise posing options.

Equipment & Utility Arms

Modern operators rarely stand perfectly still with both hands on their weapon.

To reflect that, the kit includes a growing selection of utility arm options, allowing builders to create miniatures interacting with radios, sidearms, equipment and their environment.

These small details help create much more natural-looking squads and significantly increase the number of unique combinations possible from a single box.

Heads

Head options play an enormous role in giving a force its identity.

Current work includes a mixture of:

• Baseball caps
• Communications headsets
• Modern ballistic helmets
• Respirators
• Knit hats
  

This variety allows the same kit to represent contractors operating in very different climates and theatres.

Torsos & Clothing

Unlike conventional military infantry, PMCs don't all wear identical equipment.

Some operators favour lightweight plate carriers.

Others carry larger load-bearing equipment.

Some wear softshell jackets while others operate in rolled-up sleeves.

Capturing that variety has been one of the key goals throughout development.

Legs

Movement is just as important as equipment.

Current poses include standing, advancing and kneeling options designed to create natural-looking squads rather than identical firing lines.

Combined with the modular upper body system, these poses dramatically increase the number of possible miniature combinations.

Community Driven Development

One of the things we're enjoying most about this project is sharing the development process publicly.

Every render we post generates new ideas from the community, and many of those suggestions have already influenced the direction of the kit.

Although it's impossible to include every idea, the feedback we receive genuinely helps us build a better product.

Still a Work in Progress

Although development has progressed quickly over the past few weeks, the Western PMC kit is still very much a work in progress.

There are refinements still to make.

Components still to design.

Poses still to improve.

That's one of the reasons we're sharing these updates so openly. We want you to see the journey from the very first digital sculpt all the way through to steel tooling, production and finally a box of hard plastic miniatures on your hobby desk.

Looking Ahead

Over the coming weeks you'll begin seeing complete assembled miniatures alongside further component reveals as the kit moves closer towards production.
